As I was eating lunch today, I noticed how often I enjoy eating onion. At the time I was enjoying some leftover green beans that were covered in onion (thanks to my companion), and I thought back to how much onion I've been eating on my mission. I would guess I have consumed onion at least once a day. Don't worry, I brush my teeth after ANY meal with onion, as a personal precaution.
I made a connection though, while I was enjoying my onion-y green beans, onion can seem like a good thing to me, but then someone else gets to smell that afterwards (if I were gross and didn't brush afterwards). Cursing is a lot like eating an onion. It's enjoyable to the person doing it, but the bystander gets to hear that and doesn't really enjoy it (for the most part). I know I don't.
I personally don't curse because it makes people sound so uneducated. There are so many other words in the English language that are so much more fun to say, I would much rather dig through the recesses of my mind to find more interesting vocabulary.
Moral of the story, I might consider cutting back on my onion intake, I might not. I guess you'll have to talk to me to find out. Are there any words in your vocabulary that are offensive to others? Are you going to do anything to change that, or just continue walking around with "onion breath?"
